Free Entrepreneurship Briefing Sessions

The Department of Trade and Industry through its Bureau of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development (BMSMED) will conduct a series of free SME briefing sessions at the BMSMED Training Room, 5/F DTI Building, 361 Sen. Gil J. Puyat Avenue, Makati City. It will run every Tuesday from 1:30-4:00 p.m. from 22 March to 31May 2011.

The 1-hour per topic briefing sessions are geared towards enterprise creation and imparting more knowledge and information necessary in starting and running a business.

Briefing session topics are the following:
March 22: How to be an Entrepreneur; and Barangay Micro Business Enterprise (BMBE) Law; March 29: Entrepreneur’s Roadmap to Compliance; Financing Programs for Micro Enterprises; and Financing Programs for SMEs; April 5: Integrated Business Licensing; and How to be an Entrepreneur; April 12: How to Handle Consumer Complaints; and How to Sell Products to the Local Market; April 26: How to Acquire a BFAD Certificate; and Orientation on Shelf-life Testing and Nutrition Labeling; May 3: Packaging Design Awareness; and How to Get a Product Bar Code; May 10: How to be an Entrepreneur; and Barangay Micro Business Enterprise (BMBE) Law; May 17: Awareness on Food Safety Management; and How to be a HALAL Certified Company; May 24: Overview on Food Standards, Policies and Guidelines; and Awareness on Workplace Organization Methodology; May 31: The Role of IP System in Economic and Technology Development; and Orientation on Registering for Patent, Trademarks and Trade Names.

The briefings are intended to help existing entrepreneurs who want to enhance their operational capabilities and those seriously interested in starting a business.
